- There was a cut in "Playin' In The Band2 of approximately 27 seconds which has been been patched with shnid 17186
- A number of level adjustments have been made and speed issues addressed.
- There is some light crackle in the left channel during the first 30 minutes or so of Set I, which is only really noticeable between songs and in quiet passages. Although it has been greatly reduced it cannot be entirely eliminated.

Underestimated.
Every year I underestimate this show. Maybe by December I've had an overfill of fantastic 1972 shows and they all kind of blend together, maybe its the partial nature of the tape, or no really off the wall songs. Not sure why I always forget I love this one but I do. The jam out of Truckin hits that place they would reach deep in a 72 DStar or Other One where Billy keeps a racing tempo and there's a real deliberate focus yet no real groove, just momentum. The post-vocal jam in the Veneta 72 Star about when the graphics start in the movie is a good example of that space. This jam here is a great journey through that space. It's very similar to the jams played in the Truckin>Other One from NYE 1972. I think I'm a bigger fan of 72 than 73, they tended to hang around the quiet and dissonant space sections in the jams a little too long in 73. In these 1972 jams they really keep things moving.
Anywho yeah overall the show is good standard 1972 stuff but it's the meat that's worth checking out. Nearly all 1972 tapes after October seem to have some kind of weird mix in one way or another, usually drum heavy but kind of thin, this one is pretty balanced. This is probably the best transfer but I'm sure someone can point out speed issues and all that.

Come all you pretty women..
Anything from 73 is gonna be at or above 5 stars.
your variables are sound and completeness of show.
This sounds pretty good and cuts minor & few.
THANK YOU All you folks who labor so diligently to bring us this great music.
I know there is a little bit of a deadhead critic movement going but I myself feel like a sweepstake winner.
I have what for all practical purposes is an endless supply of Grateful Dead.
China>Rider, Box of Rain = very sweet
"Gone are the days "..
The PITB jam is super psychedelic
and it gets a Casey Jones chaser to close.
Greatest Story in 73 is so super cool
between Jerry giving it the wha, wha
and DJG getting her growls in.
"Don't you let that Deal, go down"
The TRUCKIN jam
good flow with Keith right in there with Garcia & Lesh
and of course Billy & Bobby , Nice mellow jam
seemed like a brief Slipknot before Star chords
and then the lyrics followed by some space
and almost meltdown around 8 minutes in
and gently subtly into the Dew..

Thank you to M. Vernon for the upload and Sirmick for the transfer. That we have these recordings from, in this case, 47 years ago is nothing but a real treat.
That the file names are mismatched? Hush. It took me 5 seconds to figure that out and cope. Deal with it and stop whining. I can only imagine your response if you were back in the day and you'd get tapes that weren't marked or labeled in any way.
Great show from one of the best performing years. Thanks to all who make these recordings available. 1972 is pretty much a 5 star year.

Files are also misnumbered. Folks should not be so sloppy when posting. Sound is OK
